What is YEDA?

YEDA stands for Youth Equestrian Development Association. This national organization is dedicated to helping young riders expand their showing experience by providing a professional environment to grow their skills without the stress or expense of horse ownership. This organization emphasizes exposure to scholarship opportunities and allows riders to connect with collegiate equestrian teams and programs.

Who Can Participate in Diamond T19's YEDA Team?

YEDA provides classes for Grades 4-12 and college students of all riding levels. Those who are not yet old enough to officially join YEDA can still participate in team practices and attend team events and shows to support their future teammates.

Do I Need to Own a Horse or Have Riding Experience to Join the Team and Show?

No! Horses are available for rent at each show. While it may seem intimidating to ride and show a horse you may not know, our practices will prepare our Show Team to be successful when attending these events. Our goal is to build confident, well-rounded riders, this association is an important part of making that goal possible.

Practice

Our YEDA team practices twice a week at the barn in small groups and private lessons. Groups are structured based on skill level in order to keep practices comprehensive for everyone. Small groups allow for the team to grow close and work together while still receiving personalized instruction.

Show

YEDA shows are competitive, fun, and low pressure. Horses can be rented at these events. The horses provided at the shows are show horses and well-mannered lesson horses that are all held to a high standard by the association. Shows are very well organized and put together so the day can run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Coaching

Diamond T19 provides a show coach at all YEDA shows to help the riders every step of the way. whether it's adjusting clothes, walking through patterns on last time, or helping calm nerves... Your coach will help you do your best both inside and outside of the ring at every show.

Show Attire

Attire required to show:

• Boots (preferable square toe)

• Pants

• Chaps

• Plain belt

• Cowboy hat or helmet

• Shirt purchased from YEDA
